How to Make Thai Iced Coffee : 10 Recipe Variations

What is a Thai iced coffee?

Thai iced coffee starts with really strong coffee. Sweet, evaporated milk and condensed milk or cream help to tone it down a little, but it has a good taste for coffee.

Thai iced coffee, too, tends to be very tasty, which counteracts the coffee’s strength. You can alter the sweetness by increasing the quantity of sweetened condensed milk.

What does Thai iced coffee taste like?

Thai iced coffee is creamy, strong, and sweet. Make a cup of coffee and store it in the refrigerator for you’re in a coffee mood and when you’re for a spike of caffeine and sugar.

Putting a few drops of your favorite liqueur kicks it up for a tasty after-dinner cocktail.

Description

The Thai Iced Coffee is so jaw-dropping it’s going to knock off your shoes! It’s incredibly tasty, refreshing, and simple to make at home. It’s about to be your new must-have coffee.

Ingredients

• 2 big cups of coffee (hot, strongly brewed, or strong instant coffee)

• 4 to 6 tablespoons of condensed milk

• 1/4 cup of evaporated milk (or you can substitute with fresh heavy cream)

• Optional: ice cubes, cardamom ground

How to make Thai Iced coffee

1. Get the ingredients.

2. Pour the hot coffee into a glass jar or other vessel for pouring and mixing

3. Add the condensed milk to taste and stir until well dissolved. Add some ice cubes and chill in the fridge for 1 hour or more.

4. To serve, put a few ice cubes in each glass’s base and pour the coffee. Cap each drink with a few spoonfuls of heavy cream or evaporated milk.

5. Taste the coffee—you would like it to taste sweet and strong. Add more sweetened condensed milk if you want sweeter or more heavy cream or evaporated milk for a richer taste or if it is too strong. (Note that this iced coffee is supposed to be a little sweet.)

6. Serve and enjoy yourself!

Tip

Thai iced coffee is better made with freshly brewed coffee. That being said, if you use leftover coffee, slightly reheat it before continuing with the recipe.

What’s the difference between thai iced coffee and Vietnamese iced coffee?

I often get this question emailed to me about this recipe. They are quite similar, but they are different. Vietnamese Coffee is usually brewed very hot with a drip machine and then sweetened with condensed milk.

The key difference between Thai Iced Coffee is that spices are applied directly to the coffee grounds/beans before brewing. In this scenario, we’re using cardamom!
